The purpose of the association is to deal with metallurgy, materials engineering and associated processes in the scientific, technical and business sectors. The purpose of the association is achieved by:
– ​​cooperation in the development, production and processing of steel, non-ferrous metals, ceramic special materials and refractory materials.
– the perception of the interests of the industrial and commercial companies represented in the association in the public as well as with national and international institutions.
– to promote the further training of members living in the workplace, to increase the number of engineers, and to influence the training of the students in the relevant subject areas.
– Co-operation and coordination of activities with national and international associations and institutions with appropriate synergies among the association objectives.
– Lectures and meetings, where professional experience is exchanged, developments are discussed in the relevant areas and personal relationships are maintained.
– Community work is carried out in specialist committees and project groups.
– Dissemination of the technical and scientific knowledge and the essential results of the Community work by publication in the monthly and quarterly manuals.
– Organization of student members in a student section, which has the purpose of promoting study and professional training.
